Boston Pedestrian Killed On Mass Pike Exit Ramp

A tragic incident that occurred on Monday claims the life of a Boston pedestrian. On the Massachusetts Turnpike exit ramp in the city, a man was struck and killed according to Massachusetts State Police.

The time of the accident was around 12:45 p.m. The state police troopers at Boston’s Tunnels Barracks were called to the scene of the accident where a Boston pedestrian was killed on Interstate 90 east. The exact location of the incident was Mass Pike; 135 ramp exit to South Boston. The troopers found an unidentified man, aged 50. He was pronounced dead at the scene according to the troopers.

Initial investigation revealed that the man was struck by multiple vehicles and the drivers of those vehicles were unaware of hitting a man. One vehicle that hit the man has been identified so far according to the state police. The driver of the vehicle is cooperative regarding the investigation.

Troopers are not looking for suspects at this time. The Exit 135 ramp on I-90 remained closed for two hours following the accident. Massachusetts Department of Transportation assisted Troopers at the scene of the accident. The crash investigation is underway by Massachusetts State Police, MSP Crime Scene Services Section, Troop H, MSP Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit.
