Massachusetts Pike Crash in Brighton Claims the Life of a Teen

A tragic Massachusetts Pike crash claimed the life of a Burlington teen on Monday, November 1. The fatal single-vehicle crash happened on I-90 and is currently under investigation by Massachusetts State Police. According to Massachusetts State Police, troopers responded to the crash that was on 129.6 – mile marker on the eastbound side of Mass. Pike. Troopers found a vehicle, identified as a Honda Civic, 2019 make.

Honda Civic struck a jersey barrier after veering off the roadway to the left. The vehicle then struck the guardrail, veering back across all lanes into the Jersey barrier again. The vehicle came to a stop at the Jersey barrier. It has been confirmed by the authorities that the driver, identified as Joseph Fournier, aged 18, from Burlington, died in the accident. According to the Police, speeding could be a contributing factor in the Massachusetts Pike crash. 

Troopers were assisted by the Boston EMS and MassDOT on the scene. Massachusetts State Police with assistance from the State Police Crime Scene Services Section and Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section are still investigating the crash. All the facts and circumstances are under consideration by the troops.
